It is my great pleasure and honour to welcome you to Winchester Photographic Society in this, our centenary year.The society was founded by keen amateur photographers to promote their shared hobby and to show their photographs to the public with an annual exhibition.
To celebrate our centenary, I’m particularly excited about the quality and range of speakers that we have for this season.
Many of our lectures are open to guests as well as members, and tickets for some events will be available for anyone to buy online.

President Winchester Photographic Society
Founded in 1923, WPS is one of the largest clubs in the southern region.
Our membership covers all levels of photographic skills, from absolute beginners who have yet to purchase a camera, to those who travel the world producing sensational images of people and places, flora and fauna.
As well as guest lecturers and competitions at our weekly Tuesday meetings, we offer workshops, tutorials and outings to help members improve their skills.
Our Tuesday meetings are 7:30-10:00pm at the Winchester Arc in Jewry Street.
We welcome all feedback about the Society: questions and comments, compliments and suggestions, and reports of problems which we will try to fix as quickly as we can.

We run two exhibitions every year.

The Winchester National Exhibition for digital photographic images is open to all photographers in the UK. It awards BPE crowns for accepted images.

Our Annual Exhibitions in 2020 and 2021 were held as online events.
For both exhibitions, an online gallery of successful images was displayed on the Hampshire Cultural Trust website
The 2021 award winning and accepted images are still on display in our Annual Exhibition 2021 Gallery.
We regret that we had to cancel WNE for 2020.
WNE returned for 2021 and 2022.
Giles is an experienced judge on the SCPF circuit. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Yacht Design at Solent University where his responsibilities include the MSc course in Superyacht Design.
Giles is a member of Locksheath and Sarisbury Camera Club,
He has judged our Club competitions several times before, and we look forward to welcoming him again.
